Sixth Form dress code

Our students are role models for Hermitage Academy and as such should be smartly presented at all times. We ask that students wear professional dress reflecting our high expectations in all aspects of student life.

Recommended:

  • Smart trousers.
  • Smart skirt or dress of a reasonable length.
  • Smart collared shirt with or without a tie.
  • Smart blouse or top.
  • Smart v-neck or round neck jumpers or cardigan.
  • Smart, formal, plain shoes in black, brown, navy or grey.

All students must wear their Sixth Form ID badge at all times.

This must be worn and visible at all times. If you do not have your ID badge for any reason, you must check in with the Sixth Form Team for them to ensure safeguarding protocols are followed and a temporary lanyard is issued for the day.

Unacceptable:

  • Sportswear e.g. hoodies, tracksuits or leggings.
  • Casual trousers e.g. Combat trousers/cargo pants, shorts, leggings, jeans or ripped trousers.
  • Casual shoes e.g. trainers, plimsolls, canvas shoes (Vans/Converse), Crocs, Yeezys, flip flops or Ugg style boots.
  • Denim, leather, leather-look, lycra (dresses, skirts, shorts, trousers) or ‘bodycon’ materials 
  • Sleeveless tops or vest tops.
  • Hats or caps.
  • Exposed skin eg. low necklines or crop tops.
  • Non-natural hair colours.
  • Facial piercings, other than subtle ear piercings.
  • Tattoos on show.

The academy reserves the right to decide whether students are dressed smartly and may ask a student to change their clothing if it does not meet our professional standards.
