Club lunch

At the end of half term, students who attended extracurricular clubs the most were treated to a special lunch to celebrate their engagement.

Each of the 19 students have consistently attended at least five clubs, making full use of the opportunities we offer during their lunch times and after school.

Here's what some of them have to say:

“Attending clubs helps me to build connections, communicate with lots of different people and to learn new things about my subjects. I particularly love Drama Club where you have lots of freedom!” – Lana A

“Since attending clubs I have made lots of new friends and have learned lots of new skills such as Warhammer, games and literacy” – Jayden C

“Going to clubs builds your confidence and makes you meet more friends. I love the clubs, but games club is the best as it is great social time” – Megan A

“The school clubs are really great experiences and are really fun, especially creative writing! I am pleased that the school encourages side interests, particularly Warhammer. Thank you so much” - Harrison J

“I love Hermitage Voices, because singing allows me to get my feelings across and de-stress and the community of voices are always there to support you” – Caroline B

“The clubs give you a chance to know that there is somewhere that you can go during a lunch time, to learn new and exciting things” – Charlotte M

It's very clear that our students are thriving from their varied experiences and bank of new skills. Not only that, but their academic progress is strong as they have had the chance to build stronger relationships with their teachers and classmates,

Never been to a club? Why not challenge yourself and give something new a try? http://www.hermitageacademy.co.uk/curriculum/wider-curriculum-and-cultural-capital/extra-curricular-clubs
