A huge congratulations to our Students of the Month, awarded by their Heads of Year.
Year 7's winner is Emily, who has been an asset to the year group from the moment she started. She is extremely hard-working and engaged in lessons, which is testament to her excellent attitude to learning. She is kind, respectful and has already amassed an amazing 97 positive points in her time at Hermitage Academy so far. She is a role model to her peers and those around school.
On the topic of role models, Year 7 Reegan too leads by example. His resilience since starting Hermitage Academy has been an inspiration to all. He is forever determined and goes about his school day with exceptional manners. Every person that comes into contact with Reegan will comment on how polite and respectful he is.
In Year 8, James has made an excellent start to the year. James is a quiet, kind young man who is an asset to the Year 8 community. Since returning in September James' behaviour for learning has been outstanding. He has a massive 109 positive points, which is the most across the year group. James' attitude to learning has been really impressive, teachers comment that James is always willing to contribute to learning opportunities and that the contributions are of equally high quality.
Brooke has made an impressive start to Year 8 also. She is a polite young lady who has demonstrated a conscientious approach to learning, she is organised, punctual and has managed 100% attendance since returning to school this academic year.
Brooke's attitude to learning has been a significant strength, she has accumulated a fantastic 96 points already, across 12 different subject areas showing her commitment to school across the curriculum. A brilliant start Brooke, well done on achieving the Head of Year Award for September.
Year 9's award goes to Jessica who has made a fantastic start to the year by currently topping our positive behaviour charts with over 100 positives! Jessica is a kind, friendly and diligent student. Jessica has received positives within every subject, especially excelling within her art and History lessons. She is a dedicated swimmer and combines her hard work in the classroom with hard work in the pool.
Oli also wins the Year 9 award, having received nearly 100 positive points. Oli is a valued member of the year group and is always willing to help out. Oli has received positive points across the curriculum and particularly enjoys his PE, and music lessons. Oli has a real passion for music, especially the electric guitar and spends lots of his time working on his own material. Oli also shows dedication on the football pitch, having represented the same football club for 7 years. Great work Oli!
Mollie has had an incredible start to Year 10 and bagged Student of the Month for her year group. Not only did she give up her own time to support the drama department and the school at the recent Year 5 and 6 open evening, she also became an anti-bullying ambassador for the school. In addition, Mollie has obtained an impressive amount of achievement points across all her subjects. Molly continues to be an excellent role model do not only those in her group but also to the student body as a whole.
Year 10 student Jayden is a worthy winner at any time but this September he has really stood out due to his commitment to extra-curricular activities, especially staying behind to help and rehearse un music. Jayden has gained an impressive 56 achievement points in the course of a few weeks and builds on a consistent work ethic over his 3 years at the Academy. Jayden is always polite and respectful to both staff and students alike.
Jude has had an exceptional start to Year 11 making him a worthy Student of the Month. He has achieved the most amount of positive praise points in the year group so far! Jude has been recognised by his teachers mainly for having an excellent attitude to learning in a variety of subjects, including Spanish, English, geography, maths and drama. Jude also has excellent attendance and uniform standards and always completes his homework. You can often see Jude staying after school to attend revision and after school sessions to complete his GCSE music composition and performance coursework. We know with Jude’s hard work and dedication he will do really well in his exams in the Summer.
Our final Student of the Month is Jasmine who has already gone from strength to strength in Year 11, achieving at least one (but most of the time, multiple) positive attitude to learning praise points for every single subject she studies. In addition, Jasmine has already completed the written part of her hospitality and catering course, passing it with flying colours. Jasmine is absolutely dedicated to her learning and usually stays back every night in the library to seek support and help improve her knowledge and skills. At the end of Year 10, Jasmine successfully applied to be a prefect and she achieved the position of Senior Prefect. She was a wonderful ambassador for the school at our recent Open Evening, and we are so proud to see her confidence grow through carrying out this role.
